Sick Boys: How to Deal with Feeling Emotions in Sobriety
Seth unexpectedly lost his grandfather in a sudden accident. He also recently discovered his mother has cancer, and he talks about how his old alcoholic self would’ve dealt with difficult times and how he deals with them now. Then Shane opens up and makes a heartfelt confession. His biggest fear is that one day he’ll be faced with such a horrific life event, that he won’t be able to prevent himself from going back to drugs and alcohol.
Later in the show, the two discuss the work/life balance, and how recovering alcoholics and addicts may become workaholics as a new way of avoiding life. They also go over the importance of having a network of family and friends for support, being present in the moment, and admitting when they’re wrong. Lastly, they run through The Heart and Hustle round!
